Rudeck named president of ALLETE Clean Energy

ALLETE, Inc., announced the appointment on Wednesday of Al Rudeck as president of its wholly-owned ALLETE Clean Energy subsidiary

Rudeck’s appointment will be effective on July 1, as current President Eric Norberg prepares to retire.

“I feel privileged and humbled to join the ACE team who has, in partnership with ALLETE, demonstrated keen abilities ranging from creative and sophisticated deal negotiations to acquisitions and build-own-transfer of large scale energy projects to honing expertise in operating of wind farms,” Rudeck said. “These are exciting and dynamic times in the energy industry as our nation’s energy landscape changes. I look forward to applying my knowledge and experience with the ACE team as we together grow in the non-regulated clean energy arena.”

Norberg served ALLETE for 38 years and will retire on July 1. A proponent for clean energy during his career, Norberg helped the company establish a 500-megawatt national wind portfolio in just five years.

Rudeck, who will continue to develop the organization’s clean energy program, began his career in 1996, working as a chemical engineer for ALLETE’s utility division, Minnesota Power. He was promoted to vice president of generation in 2006, where he oversaw the utility’s thermal renewable assets and operations in North Dakota and Minnesota.
