The Public Utilities Commission of Nevada (PUCN) recently launched its new webpage on rooftop solar and net energy metering to reflect changes to policies and PUCN responsibilities approved by the Nevada State Legislature in Assembly Bill 405.
The Legislature directed PUCN to implement the statute by Sept. 1.
The webpage provides information on the number of pending applications for rooftop solar in megawatts as well as the amount of rooftop solar currently installed in the state.
“We want to provide solar customers and businesses with as much real-time information about solar applications and installations as possible,” PUCN Chair Joe Reynolds said.
The website also includes the Renewable Energy Bills of Rights, information on the 80-megawatt tier framework for excess rooftop solar, tips on choosing a solar installer, and customer protection information as well as links to help users file complaints and ask questions.
“Our IT staff did an amazing job getting the website up and running in such a short amount of time,” PUCN Executive Director Stephanie Mullen said. “I’m proud of the PUCN’s work, and I would also like to thank NV Energy for working with us on it.”
