Indianapolis Power & Light receives ReliabilityOne Award for midsize utilities
Indianapolis Power & Light Co. (IPL) was named the winner of the 2016 ReliabilityOne Award for Outstanding Midsize Utility for excelling in the delivery of reliable energy to its customers.
IPL, a subsidiary of The AES Corp., won the award from PA Consulting Group for the second year in a row. The company provides electric service to more than 480,000 customers throughout Indianapolis and Central Indiana.
“At IPL, we are honored to be recognized for our efforts in delivering safe, reliable and affordable electricity that our customers depend on year round,” said Joe Bentley, AES U.S. vice president of Customer Operations, said.
IPL is ranked in the top 10 percent of companies across the United States for the level of reliability it provides.
The ReliabilityOne Award is open to any midsize utility operating electricity delivery networks in the United States. The award recipients are chosen based on statistics that measure the duration and frequency of customer outages.
