Cypress Creek Renewables, a provider of local solar farms, has joined the Solar Energy Industry Association’s (SEIA) board of directors.

Cypress Creek Renewables identifies and acquires underutilized land on which to build utility-scale solar arrays. The company has raised and invested more than $1.5 billion with over 4 gigawatts of local solar farms deployed or in development.

“Their commitment to the communities they serve creates jobs, strengthens local economies and advances the solar industry as a whole, which aligns perfectly with SEIA’s mission and vision,” said Tom Kimbis, interim president of SEIA, the national trade group of the U.S. solar industry.

Since the company was founded in 2014, Cypress Creek Renewables has promoted partnerships with landowners, regulators, lenders, consumers and local communities in order to maximize the use of green energy.

“We’re excited for the opportunity to work alongside other industry leaders in furthering our goal of putting as much solar on the ground as possible,” said Cypress Creek Renewables CEO Matthew McGovern.
