The Missouri Public Service Commission (PSC) opened a working case this week to allow PSC to gather information and to facilitate discussions on emerging issues related to utility regulation, new technologies and modified rate proposals.

Specifically, the case will assess the regulation of solar energy and the implementation of modified rate design proposals. It will also examine the commission’s role in supporting a market for plug-in electrical vehicles, the installation of advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), as well as Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) and Pay as You Save (PAYS) programs.

The PSC announced that it will hold a workshop meeting on May 18 and invited interested parties to provide information to the PSC Staff before the meeting on the designated topics.

Using case number EW-2017-0245, anyone may view documents and submit comments or documents without the need for legal counsel, the PSC said. Comments can be submitted through the PSC’s Electronic Filing and Information System (EFIS) or by mail.

After the information gathering process, the PSC Staff plans to submit a report the commission on its review.
